The artist has captured the strength and beauty of this tall masted wood ship. Without any doubt it was sailed by men of strength and resolve -- men seeking fortune and adventure. The ship in this painting is sailing with a favorable wind. This is one of his earlier works, and it's a large piece. The canvas measures 36 inches wide and 24 inches tall. The frame is approximately 44 x 32 inches (a large painting). The painting is on canvas, and the canvas has been mounted on ply board. The frame is original to the painting and has protected it well. The frame is in very good condition with only a little bit of wear at all. The painting is in quite beautiful condition. The surface is glossy, and I had to take the photos of this painting at steep angles to avoid the camera flashback. I also took the photos with various light levels so that you can get a true idea as to the beautiful colors and depth of this original painting. The last two photos (zoomed in so that you can see) show two very tiny spots where the canvas has a small wrinkle. You have to look for it to even find it. This painting is very large.
