Bernard Gantner was born on August 16th, 1928 in Belfort. After secondary studies and the Baccalaureat, he studied painting at the "Academie des Beaux-Arts" in Belfort, and in various independent Academies in Paris. En plein air painter, Gantner is internationally celebrated for his impressionistic rendering of the French countryside. Since 1973 Vision Nouvelle in Paris published he prints exclusivity. By the ninties, most of Gantner's lithographs were valued at $975-$1200. He held private and collective exhibitions throughout the world. The works of Gantner can be found in the most famous Museums and collection of the World including the Musee de la Ville de Paris, and the Albert and Victoria Museum,in London. This lithograph for sale has never been framed, has been properly stored out of the light, so is in excellent condition. The print measures 21 3/4" x 15 7/8" (paper) and 18 1/2" x 12 1/4" (image). On the back in pencil is the date 88y and the price of $425. US at the time of purchase.The print will be shipped rolled in tissue with authenticity in a 3" cardboard tube. Buyer needs to gently handle the print with clean dry hands when opening. The paper will flatten by carefully reverse rolling and storing the print flat between two acid free boards with weight on top. Also, an archival print sleeve will be an ideal solution. A qualified custom framer will do this for you. I hold a B.F.A. in printmaking and have described this artwork to the best of my ability. All sales are final.
