Before this time the plan wasto go into a different area of music such as Folk or Rock and Roll singing. Howeverthe importance we all placed on Jesus Christ caused us all to re-evaluate our decision.The best kind of music we could possibly sing is Gospel Music, so that is how we decidedto serve.There were many times in the next few years when things were rough. We got offto a slow start because of a large distance between members of the group. However,we always had a common aim in mind, to serve Christ in all things no matter what.Slowly, with a lot of work, we saw improvement in our blend as the Lord used us in hiswork. We had more and more opportunities to praise the Lord in song. We hope thatyou don't think our group is hypocritical. There are some groups that use the Lord as acover instead of letting the Lord use them. Each one of the people in our group putsthe Lord first in their life. That is what keeps us going!There are many things that can be done to do God's work here on earth. Some areblessed with the ability to preach, some to teach, others to sing. We have tried, withthis album to do our part in glorifying and uplifting Christ. Being as God was the giverof our different talents, he and only he should get the credit. God was a unifying causethat kept our group together through thick and thin. We, the Agape Singers, feel thatif you enjoy ours and others Gospel singing, Praise the Lord for it.Paul talks about all these different ways we can serve when he compares it tomembers of the body. It seems the Romans and the Corinthians needed some instruc-tion in this area. Romans 12, and I Corinthians 12 both talk about this. Paul admonishedthem that just because the hand* was a hand it wasn't better than the eye or the ear.Everyone can't be the same. We all have talents that should be used. A preacher or aprofessor is not necessarily better than a musician or Sunday School teacher. The preacherhas his God given talents and so does the singer. We hope that the songs of this albuminspire you to get along better with your fellow brother in Christ. The important thingis not so much what you do but that you do do something for the Lord.
