Description: This is a really nice guide to the birds of Nigeria. It set the roadmap for understanding the country's avifauna. Although it lacks distribution range maps considering the date it was published, it is really a great piece of info for birdwatchers and researchers to relate to the present status of birds and ornithology in Nigeria. Interestingly, it does provide the background of the country's landscape, which I sincerely assume has changed over the last couple of decades owing to Nigeria's rapid population growth, accompanied by changes in land use, largely urbanisation, and deforestation. It will certainly guide present and future studies in birds in Nigeria and is highly recommended!
