Description: Lovely “Antique” or nearly antique Imperial Semi Porcelain “Dove” pattern Trivet with a distinct bluish-green petite floral design with a silver-tone metal rim that looks very much like stainless steel. Made by Bishop & Stonier pottery manufacturers which operated in England from 1891 to 1933. The invention of Stainless steel is generally attributed to Harry Brearley of England sometime between 1908-1913 dating this trivet to sometime between 1913 and 1933. Considering the age of this trivet, it’s in remarkably good condition with wear marks appropriate to its age. the stainless rim has been rubbed to a matte finish in some places and is shiny in others, but still looks very nice. No chips or cracks. Smoke free.
