That was the year that Mattel released the Barbie Black Canary doll. Black Canary is one of the most iconic heroes from DC Comics and has appeared in TW shows, cartoons, and films. As part of the comics collection, these dolls come dressed for saving the world. Also known by her full name of Dinah Laurel Lance, Black Canary is a hero to both boys and girls. She served as part of the Birds of Prey in books and was a lawyer on television. Whether or not you know her as the hard-hitting lawyer from "Arrow," you probably know about her canary cry. This cry shatters glass and brings even the biggest bad guy down. This Barbie doll comes dressed just like the character. She wears a small bodysuit and a matching cropped jacket. Both of those pieces come in a material that looks like real leather. The gold zipper and other gold accents on the jacket help to break up her otherwise dark look. She wears black gloves to protect her hands as she fights as well as a matching pair of cool boots. These black shoes fit effortlessly on the doll and help Barbie stand upright. Fishnet tights in a matching color complete the look and make this Barbie ready for a night of fighting crime. Mattel slightly changed the makeup on this Barbie to make the dolls look more heroic. The dolls feature bright red lips that part slightly, evoking the expression she makes when giving the canary cry. The dark colors that line her eyes really make her blue irises pop.
