Description: Mask is carved by hand from the bark of the Black Cottonwood tree, which occurs in the lowlands of Alaska's southcentral and southern coastal forests. The bark comes from trees that have been dead for 5 to 6 years. It is then possible to remove bark that is up to 6 inches thick. The mask is adorned with wolf, coyote, beaver and reindeer furs, Has a loop on the back ready for hanging. Carved and signed by David L. Hendren of Anchor Point, Alaska . 7 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches. Mask of man also available.
