Born in Aichi Prefecture in 1980, she moved her base to Miyagi Prefecture in 2008 to continue her creative activities. This work, 'Blind Date,' is her first collection since the 2013 publication of 'Rasen Kaigan Album.' In 2009, in Bangkok, Thailand, Shiga photographed couples racing through the city on motorcycles. In the bustling city filled with passing motorcycles, Shiga engaged in countless mutual gazes with the people seated on the motorcycle backseats. The camera was the perfect tool for her to approach the strange sense of staring without directly touching it with her bare hands. Exchanging glances continuously with unknown strangers seemed to revive an instinct as a living organism hidden in Shiga's body, crossing into something inherently sexual.
