Remove old Bonnet and Poppet.2. Clean any debris from inside the back flow device.3. Check threads on the back flow device, for any damage. 4. Install Poppet, making sure spring is in place. 5. Screw Bonnet into Poppet, making sure not to cross-thread unit, also make sure the o-ring is in place. 6. Use NO pipe dope, or Teflon tape, in the installation of this product. Remove the top nut on the bell. Unscrew with channel locks or wide mouth pliers the existing bonnet (tip: only grip the plastic where it meets the brass and twist to unscrew). Screw in the replacement part and reassemble the top.
