Designed by Jack Werner Stauffacher of the Greenwood Press who also took the new impression from the original block engraved by Bewick--"The Boys and the Frogs, tipped-in." The typeface is monotype Bulmer. The original 1818 leaf tipped into this copy is from "The Ass and the Lion Hunting," illustrated with 2 Bewick engravings. The leaf encompasses the entire Aesop fable. This title is the 175th publication of the Club and its 16th leaf book. From the Bibliography: "This, the Club's 16th leaf book, is exceptional in that one of the leaves is a new impression from an original engraving [block] printed especially for this publication."
