Description: Set of 5 overshot glass, rubina tumblers from Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. These tumblers were purchased at a Civil War show along with an overshot pitcher that was sold as a set. After doing some research, I dicovered that although they do match in color, they were not part of a matching set, and they were produced by different companies. They are, however, antiques and were produced around 1870-1887, here in the U.S. They are short glasses measuring approximately 3 5/8 inches to 3 7/8 inches. It appears that the top lip has been cut and then ground down to soften the edge, and that is the reason for the slight variation in height (pictured). These glasses are a VERY rare find and would make a wonderful addition to any fine or antique glass collection.
