Description: BRAVE New World REVISITED Aldous HUXLEY 1st FIRST Edition 1958 Hardcover with Dust Jacket Library COPY Huxley's scary look at Brave New World and how it's concepts were proving truth being stranger than his fiction, decades after it's release. 60 years on from this book, Huxley would likely be writing specifically about Trumpism. From the description inside the dust jacket is this partial quote: Brave New World Revisited is not fiction. It is a shocking, yet calm, estimate of what has been done, what is being done and what may very soon be done to turn men into compliant robots. The enemies of freedom are subtle, often unobserved, and far more numerous than we suppose. Mr Huxley reveals them with the lucidity and scientific insight for which he is famous. With overpowering impact, the book is a challenge to complacency and a plea that mankind should educate itself in freedom before it is too late.I have included pictures of the entire synopsis. This is a First Edition.I am not a professional bookseller and can only offer my opinion regarding condition. This is a former library book. It has the types of flaws inherent in books that are loaned out. Surprisingly, this copy is in much better condition than I thought it would be. There are what I deem to be standard "issues" inherent in aged, used books such as light scuffing and dings on the corners of the cover, hardcover showing light general shelf/edge wear, fading and minor bumping on corners of boards, discoloration, fading, writing, etc.. The most egregious of these are binding separation near the beginning and Scotch tape remnants and staining. Please see the accompanying photos for the actual condition.
