DIETMAR BRIXY Born in Mannheim in 1961 and studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe from 1985 to 1991, where his teachers included professors Wilhelm Loth, Katharina Fritsch, and Harald Klingelhller. He has been living and working as a fulltime artist in Mannheim since 1991. In 2001, he purchased the Neo-Gothic Altes Pumpwerk (a disused pumping station) in the Neckarau district of Mannheim and has since lovingly restored the old industrial building, converting it into a living space and studio surrounded by gardens. Brixy is represented by galleries in Germany and abroad and participates in numerous international art fairs every year. This catalogue was for his first exhibition working as an independent artist in Mannheim.
