Description: Silver plated Buescher True Tone, Low Pitch tenor saxophone. I had this horn overhauled recently by Tony who owns AJS Woodwinds in New Jersey. This was my backup horn to my 1957 Mark VI tenor, and I honestly like the tone and low range of this horn better than my Mark VI. I end up using the VI for an edgier sound and the Buescher for more laid back gigs, it’s perfect for a quiet restaurant jazz gig. The Silver plate is still mostly intact and it gives the horn a beautiful dark tone. I’ve also played it in a symphonic band setting and it does well with a classical mouthpiece, I just have to be aware of the intonation, which is actually really good for a horn from this era. Neck is original to the horn. Comes with a brand new Protec contoured case, XL version to accommodate the split bell keys. It protects the horn very well and is secure inside. The case has only been used for about a month and the horn hasn’t left the house in that time.
