Very sophisticated and noticeably different with a unique and unusual design. The case is a little larger in diameter than what might be considered to be the norm at that time. Original and signed BULOVA on the inside of the case back. Both the bezel and two part case back have been cleaned & repolished and fitted with a new acrylic crystal. The case back has an almost mirrored finish. In general the case looks great with only modest wear/scratches commensurate with the age of the watch. Crowns: The two crowns are original, signed ‘Bulova’. Dial: The dial has been professionally refinished in a two-tone silver tone. The quarter hour positions are marked with numerals whilst the remaining hour positions are angular batons an interesting design detail is that these are tapered to work with the camber of the dial. The inner section of the dial has a slight textured effect. The ‘Bulova’ name, ‘Wrist Alarm’ and ‘swiss’ are in black. The hour positions along with the hour and minute hands have been relumed and now glow well in the dark. Hands: The hour and minute hands are original, pitched ‘Dauphine’ style. The sweep second hand and alarm hand are also original both being blue/black steel with the latter having a red arrow tip. Movement: BULOVA high quality Swiss manual wind movement. This is a fine classic 11AERC calibre with 17 jewels marked ‘L8’ for 1958. The movement has been cleaned, oiled & adjusted, and is running well, keeping good time ready to wear. As with all vintage watches regular servicing is recommended. Size: Round, approx. 33.74mm in diameter. Approx. 40.47mm lug to lug. Band: A new 18mm black leather band with stainless steel buckle has been fitted complementing the timepiece perfectly. ________________________________________________________________________________ General comments: This is a delightful example of a Bulova ‘Wrist Alarm’ manual wind watch from 1958 which has been restored to appeal once again – and as I’m sure you will agree, it certainly does.
