About this book During the course of 1st grade, it became obvious that my daughter didn’t like reading and was actively avoiding it as much as possible. When school went out for summer break, I decided that we’d work regularly on reading. The goal was to have her up to a 1st grade level by the end of summer and hopefully enjoying books as well. It was a warm July evening, the sun was setting and we’d just finished a particularly hard session of slow progress and sounding out words. It was then that an idea came to me and I suggested that she write a book. Her look of disapproval spoke volumes, but with some coaxing and assurances that it would be “fun”, I convinced her to write me a story that I could draw for her. The next day we began to talk about the book, eventually settling on the idea of two bunnies who wanted to be ninjas. From that point on, her mind started to form a story. Slowly she wrote the book, adding little details here and there until she was done. All the ideas came from her and I couldn’t be prouder. The following book is a joint effort between a father and daughter to create something truly amazing!
