Description: FROM MADEIRA WITH LOVE...! Found in an estate liquidation on Madeira Island Portugal. That of a family with ties to the UK. Three sets of vintage earthenware cream soup bowls with under plates signed by the maker as illustrated. "Burleigh Ware, Burgess & Leigh, Made In England". The pattern is considered one of their Deco designs that made this factory famous. Stylized Daffodils decorate all the pieces. The under plates measure 6 inches in diameter while the double handle soups stand approximately 2 inches high and measure 5 inches across the top. They remain in good used condition free of chips or cracks. Some very fine crazing in the glaze was detected as well as one bowl only having some tea staining in the very bottom. Expect to find some age appropriate wear commensurate with normal use. Three sets as a lot. I have inserted a standard size playing card in one photo as a reference for size. MUCH OBLIGED
