Description: c 1845 Samuel Alcock & Co hand painted, 23.5 cm floral plate pattern #3/960 from the Hill pottery, Cobridge & Burslem, Staffordshire. Wonderfully tactile with the fluted edging, and the dark apple green band sets off the finely detailed hand coloured central panel with gold highlights beautifully. The colours and gilding remain vibrant with no utensil marks or rubbing. In very good original antique condition with no cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify., there is a very small chip to the underside of the rim, refer image 4; a small kiln spatter mark to the front panel; and some light kiln scorching to the underside.Priced accordingly. This piece is unmarked except for a hand painted pattern number on the reverse. I have listed 4 plates and 2 footed comports in this pattern series separately. Ref 1329
