Description: An exceptional and rare 1850's Napoleon III burlwood with fine marquetry and boulle work lady's sewing and vanity box, complete with the original mirror, bottles, and implements. Note the storage area for sewing materials, etc. Comes with the working lock, latch, and key. Note the fine boulle cartouche. The interior compartments retain their original blue leather and velvet coverings, accented in silver. The bottles are in cut crystal with ground stoppers and polished pontils; the cut glass jars are covered with silver plate lids. Everything matches! Raised on turned wood feet. The condition is very good with some minor restoration of veneer. Some shrinkage hairlines. Size of the box is 9 1/2" wide x 6 3/4" deep x 5" tall. Please view the images for additional information.
