I do not use stock photos or photos of other people’s items.This is a carte de visite depicting the Altar Maggiore (High or Main) in the Certosa di Pavia monastery in Lombardia Italy. It is titled with attribution to "F. Brioschi e S. di Carate". I cannot find any other source for this attribution which is repeated on a CDV by Broci offered for $66 with shipping from France. The altar was built in 1568 by sculptor Ambrogio Volpi. The temple is enriched by thirteen bronze statuettes by Angelo Marini. The cross, candelabra and candlestick are by Annibale Fontana. Additional views provided for info, not included. I am also listing a CDV of the Certosa di Pavia Candelabra. Significant flaws not depicted in the photos are described here-with, minor flaws and normal wear are not. Unless the item is described as new, assume there will be minor flaws or wear commensurate with a used item of given age.
