Description: Featured is a vintage 1940 postcard (dated as per No at bottom right border) of a "Sea Food" Restaurant at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, specifically Joe DiMaggio's (more properly: Di Maggio's) "Chophouse" Restaurant which opened in 1937. The fishing boats are lined up like sentinels in a colorful array at the Wharf. * PC "new" to extent it is New Old Stock, has not been used in any manner, and remains in MINT condition. A Rare PC, especially in this essentially "new off the rack" condition. This pristine postcard comes from the Curt Teich Archives. Even as Piltzer was maker/publisher, given that it was housed in CT's Archives, it follows he had them print the card using their "Colortone" process. The card has been in our possession for approximately 15+ years ... long before the Curteich digitally archived images found their permanent home with The Newberry Institute. At the time of our acquisition, the Lake County Discovery Museum in IL was the custodian of the company's records, having served in that capacity since 1982.
