Description: This is an amazing survivor. A rare early Federal American corner ball and rope twist mirror frame. Possibly Philadelphia or New York?? The beautiful soft, worn gilding on deep scoop molding is in outstanding condition with amazing patina. The frame measures 17 x 25 with a 12 3/8 x 20 1/2 rabbet. So many of these early frames have been overpainted or have suffered significant gesso losses or water damage. Just a stunning frame.....and a rare find. Please email with any questions.
