Description: This is an excellent c1840 American oxblood red painted primitive corner block frame. Beautiful dry, crackled surface with lap jointed corners, great bubbled wavy glass, shingle backboard and period brass loop hanger. Appears the red is over a black base. Frame is in excellent condition with only minor wear and measures 15 x 18 1/4 with a 12 3/8 x 15 3/4 rabbet. A fantastic period frame that has a million uses. Please email with any questions.
