Description: Made by United States Pottery Company, Bennington Vermont from 1848 to 1858. Unmarked. Parian Porcelain trinket box with lid. Approx. 4-1/8" Length x 2.25" wide x 2.5" heightHighlighted with blue slip glazeHand applied grape cluster, leaves resting on lily pads. Small chip on the lip of the bottom of the lid. Small line on one of the leaves. Please view photos. Some inconsistencies within the porcelain from manufacturing (Pockets/bubbles etc., Some grit within molded patterns.) This is not use damage. Great piece of historically important early American pottery. There is a duplicate of this box/pattern within the collection of the New Hampshire Historical Society (can be view on their website).
