Description: This is a circa 1860 old Paris porcelain apothecary jar with a pair of blue banners that read Farmacia de Saravia. At the center is the name of the “traditional medicine” that the jar carried - Oxal Acid. Behind the medical name is a gilded anchor and on either side is a horn-of-plenty or cornucopia of flowers and garlands. Measurements: approx 10-3/8” high x 5-1/8” wide across the lid the farthest points of the lid. Maker’s mark: very hard to read - Maison A Collin Porcelaines & Cristaux a Collin Paris 90 Rue de Rivoli. Condition: the gold shows much rubbing, 4 relatively minor chips to the edge of the lid. H816
