Description: This lithograph depicts a hunting scene. On the left side, we see a hunter with his gun and dog companion. On the right side, a rabbit rests amongst the foliage on the forest floor. Right in the middle of the scene, a small village peaks through a break in the trees. DIMENSIONS: 31" x 17.5"Raoul Dufy (1877 – 1953) was largely a part of the Fauvist movement and his optimistic paintings were a good example of the strong colors and fierce brushwork of this style. He dabbled in drawing, printmaking, book illustration, scenic design, and furniture design. By the 1920s, his style had developed into a stenographic technique which involved deft and spontaneous outlines with broad areas of vivid colors.
