Description: c1932 THE B.O.C. HANDBOOK FOR OXY-ACETYLENE WELDERS Vintage RARE ILLUSTRAT. Book c.1932 – THE B.O.C. HANDBOOK FOR OXY-ACETYLENE WELDERS – Vintage and RARE, ILLUSTRATED Hardback Book. With illustrations throughout and 2 COLOUR PLATES between pages 132 and 133 (see photos). A practical guide to the principles of sound workmanship in Oxy-Acetylene Welding and Metal Cutting. Published by The British Oxygen Company Limited, Angel Road, Upper Edmonton, London. Printed by Hepburn & Sons, Ltd, 7 & 8, Pancras Lane, London. There is no date on the title page, however, the preface is dated December, 1932. This does not have a dust jacket. The cover is bound in red faux leather, over boards, with rounded corners. There is gilt lettering on the front board and spine, and gilt decorative borders on the front. The cover is intact and robust, and in a good condition for around 90 years old. However, there is some wear, which includes several small/light marks, and other wear, more-so to the edges, and a gentle lean to the spine. Please see the photographs for more details. Inside, the pages are lightly tanned, which is consistent with the age of this book. The pages are in an overall neat and clean condition for their age, and predominantly uncreased. There are only the very occasional small or light marks, or small folds or light creases. Most of the pages are without rips and there are just very small rips at the edge of a couple of pages. This does not affect the text. On the front pastedown there is a pencil inscription. However, there are no further pen or pencil marks inside this book. Between a handful of pages there are cracks in the gutter and page 227 and overleaf is loose within the book (see photo). At the rear of the book there are pages purposively left black, except for the title ‘Welder’s Notes’ and the page number. Page 253 of these note pages is missing. Besides this, all the pages are present. The pages continue to 254. Please study the photos carefully as to the condition of this book, as they do form part of the description. This measures approximately 18.7 cm by 12.2 cm and 1.8 cm wide. It weighs approximately 348 grams. Thank you so much for looking.
