Description: This is a vintage original WWII poster issued by the United States government Office of Defense Health and Welfare Services in Washington DC promoting the eating of nutritional food. This poster measures about 20” x 13.5” and is printed one side only with a graphic of Uncle Sam taking a bite of food off his fork and titled U.S. NEEDS US STRONG – EAT NUTRITIONAL FOOD. Additional graphics and text are provided explaining the benefits of different food groups. Getting Americans to eat certain types of food and to eat a healthy and nutritious diet was part of the Home Front war effort. This vintage original poster is folded one across the central laterally and has a couple punctures and short tears on the edges and moderate handling wear.
