Description: Original circa 1870's-1880's or so tintype of a beautiful young woman wearing a dress made of rags. This is certainly a very unusual dress comprised of rags. We have never seen another like this one. Perhaps she was playing the part of a down & out person in a play? Measures 3 5/8 inches by 2 3/8 inches. There are some bends including a number of small bends at the top & bottom edges. There is about 1/3 of the area along a strip which is about 3/16 inch wide at the top, bottom, & right borders which has some rust & flaws to the emulsion. The back has some areas of rust. This unusual tintype was originally found in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Please examine the photos closely & purchase based on your own judgement as to condition & value. This item is inventory #10474.
