Description: Original oil on cardboard Ukrainian artist Volodymyr Krishtopenko Signed Framed 1979 Size: 41x53 cm or 16x21" Size framed: 53.5x66 cm or 21x26" About the artist: Volodymyr Krishtopenko was born in 1930 in the town of Senno, Vitebsk region (Belarus). Since 1938 he lived in Odesa, then the war started and his family was evacuated and in 1945 returned to Odesa. In 1947-1952 he studied at the Russian department of the Philological Faculty of Odesa State University. After graduation he spent 2 years in Armenia (for the sake of meeting M.S.Saryan). In 1954-1957 he studied at the Odesa Art College (under Lukacher Ts.E., Mutselmaher M.D.). In 1957-1967 worked as a senior researcher at the Odesa Art Museum. In 1966 he taught art history at the Art Department of the Odesa State Pedagogical Institute. In 1968-1989 he worked as a teacher of art history and special disciplines on the decoration department in Odesa Art College. Since 1990 after retirement he was able to devote himself to writing. In 2001 in the exhibition hall of the Odesa Regional Branch of the National Union of Artists a personal exhibition of the artist was held, which exhibited more than 100 paintings and graphic works. Odesa held 5 solo exhibitions since 2000. Painter, graphic artist, master of book illustration, art historian and critic, poet. Died Vladimir Krishtopenko in 2004 in Odesa.
