Description: This 3032C, serial C010052, has seen 17607,hours of use since its birth in 2008. I had to replace its original power supply due to uncommanded reboots. It is stable now. Since June 2024 it started thinking it has a CPU problem (see 12 & 13th photos) but I cannot find scope doing anything wrong, so it may be a false alarm, and for this reason I am pricing it a half of my other 3032C, which comes out to 10c on the $ of what Tek priced it at. TEK TDS3032C is a Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope... This means it is a digital storage scope with variable persistence and can offer rep rate clues in the trace intensity or color. DSOs that aren't also DPOs operate at same intensity regardless of rep rate of signal, so no rep rate clues are offered in what we call "gray-scaling". TDS3032C has 2 channels displaying in 2 colors: yellow for 1, blue for 2 (scope uses a 3rd color pinkish red for math ops). Each of the 2 has all usual coupling choices available, including 50 ohm terminators. Advantages of this scope over others I sell include: a) lightest weight: only 3Kg or 7 pounds (and smallest size), b) offers (optional) battery operation: besides being able to work away from line power, it also means easier floating (and breaking noisy ground loops), c) 10X longer record lengths than my listed 2440, d) power for active probes is available at BNCs (as additional surrounding contacts), and e) more math (fast computational) capabilities (eg: multiplication as may be needed in power calculations). Advantages of this scope over other battery operated digital scopes Tek made previously is that this one has much nicer specs. Photos are of unit offered here. 1st photo shows front. 2nd shows a 1Vpp 1KHz signal into CH1. 3rd shows same signal into CH2. 4th shows 1nS risetime capability of CH1. 5th shows same for CH2. 6th shows a 6MHz 2.5 Vpp sine into CH1 and the 30% loss point by raising frequency to 450MHz with a leveled Tek SH504 gen in 7th photo. 8th and 9th show same 450 MHz BW for CH2, well above the 300 Tek claims. 10th & 11th show my cal passed. 12th shows a diagnostics issue that I cannot find consequences for, or a cure. 13th shows 17607 hours of use and the error log that without Tek’s password, I can’t erase. Tek seems to no longer believe in our “right to repair”, preferring to reserve that right for itself judging by message in 14th photo suggesting asking Tek for assistance (not free) that comes on at each turn on right after welcome screen… at least it can be removed and ignored each time. 15th shows configuration: version 4.26 software, 2 apps included free, communication plugin TDS3GV is available in list below. 16th shows scope was born and calibrated at Tek in June 2008 and used for 17607 hours since. 17th shows back. 18th shows bottom. 19th shows left side. More details on these scopes is available on Tek's website, where you can also download manual, and various tech tips. Please note that the C version uses thumb drive memory sticks instead of 3.5inch floppies. This latest C version costs over $12000 new (production recently ended)... makes mine at 20% of Tek's price a bargain! In case you are curious about what was different on the B version (introduced in 2003) was mostly the use of 3.5" floppies instead of thumb drives for storage. The TDS3000 series has had a long 20 year run (longer than 2400s') and many working specimens corroborate their reliability (it is still recommended you source yours from a knowledgeable source). At BIN, I will send you this calibrated TDS3032C with: apps (g) & (h), and 60 days guaranty. If you offer more, I can add these extras to make it better: a) replacing NVRAM for $200 (too soon to do it on this one) b) TDS3BATC rechargeable Li ion battery for $570 used (costs $865 new from Tek; not pictured; allows (claims up to 3 hours) cordless operation; adds about 1Kg weight. Tek recommends it not fly in cargo holds of aircraft but rather with passenger and in discharged state); c) soft padded carrier for $170; d) TDS3CHG fast charger for Li ion or NiCd battery for $120 (charges 6X faster than scope 4h vs 24h, works on any voltage between 100 and 250); e) rack cradle for $50 more; f) Front Cover for $55; g) TDS3TRG app module (adds some advanced trigger capability based on logic/pattern recognition); INCLUDED FREE h) TDS3FFT app module (adds some frequency domain/spectrum analyzer capability); INCLUDED FREE i) TDS3GV Communications Plugin for $280, adds GPIB, VGA & RS232 ports to back of scope; j) rear insert cover for $7; k) rear accessory tray for $10;. There are extras you could get for it elsewhere on ebay that I don't have (eg: active probes,..). Please Don't make offers for LESS than my asking price (I don't like pay cuts; Ebay already cuts my pay by about 13% and if you offer LESS than my asking price, you are consenting to my sending you a LESSER scope I priced closest to what you offer. I'm more likely to agree to add a free accessory if you ask nicely rather than accept a pay cut. Please make sure Ebay has your current correct address before you pay, as that is where I must send item to. Mistakes are costlier to fix after you pay as there are some irreversible "frictional" losses in the system. Ask questions (in English or French) before paying. It's also a good way to discuss your exact needs, match you with correct package, options, accessories... before you hit BIN. Another advantage of buying from me is that I offer to replace the old Li battery backed timekeeping NVRAM, whereas others don't. It's not trivially simple or an end-user's task: instead of usual 2 terminals for a battery, the battery is embedded inside a soldered-in IC. This is not quite as urgent on this scope as on 2400s I sell which are about 20 years older, so you may be able to postpone this procedure for a few more years. I ship worldwide. I did not pick the list of excluded countries (ebay did) and I disagree with it and will ship to most on that list. If you are outside USA, shipping by public Airmail is not available since it does not satisfy Ebay tracking and delivery confirmation requirements. We can use DHL, FEDEX, or UPS (Fedex usually gives me lowest rates) and Ebay's calculator is often greatly wrong not in your favor... Can ask me for a quote (and please include full address) or to have it travel on your account with any of the 3 by selecting "local pickup" option to zero out shipping. You get a 30 day right of exchange (or store credit), provided you return everything in same shape as found, tamper seals aren't breached, pack as well as I, and pay for all shipping. If you need guaranty extended beyond 60 days, expect to pay extra for that, though I doubt you really need it (has proven quite reliable thus far). Ebay as a large e-commerce site, collects sales tax for 45 of the 50 States. I have no control over that, and I don't charge sales tax on my own out-of-California sales. If you are outside California and don't feel like paying a large sales tax, buy something cheap(er) from me first (eg: a probe), and a workaround will present itself. I leave +feedback after you do. Works on any line voltage between 100 & 240 Vac w/o need for 115/230 switch... Ideal for world travel. Consumes only 35W (about half of a typical analog scope, about a fourth of a fullsize DSO). Buy more than 1 INCENTIVE: I will give you a 13% DISCOUNT on buying a subsequent items from me. To save 13% on this scope, buy anything else cheaper from me first. It would be foolish not to. NEED FASTER & 4 CHANNELS ? I have TDS3054C and TDS3054B listed. CHEAPER ALTERNATIVES: available by going to my TDS3032 or TDS3012 or 3012B listings. HURRY INCENTIVE: If you buy it at my asking price today, I will add 1 probe FREE (costing $500 new from Tek; you may still want to buy some cheaper accessory of mine first to get 13% off more or on the scope.
