Description: This is for a 4" patch that reads: CALIFORNIA STATE PARK SYSTEM This is the a unique and short-lived "backwards bear" version of the California State Parks official uniform patch with the bear facing to the right instead of the standard left-facing bear. This patch was produced and worn by rangers and other uniformed park staff on their right shoulder (and the right-facing version on their right shoulder) for several years in the 1970s before it was discontinued as not being the correct standard left-facing bear design.
