Description: Callistemon citrinus 'Splendens' Seeds (Crimson Bottlebrush) This wonderful hardy(ish) Bottlebrush offers bright red, 5" long flower clusters that are attractive to hummingbirds and beneficial insects, and bloom from spring to summer. In mild climates it may bloom intermittently throughout the year. The erect, stiff shrubs grow to 20' tall with fragrant, lanceolate, 4" leaves. This Australian native is quite easy to grow, and requires full to half sun in well-drained soils, but will also withstand poorly drained situations more than other varieties. Best flowering occurs in full sun. Though this is probably the most common of Bottlebrush species, its hardiness and ease of culture have made it so. This attractive species responds to heavy pruning after flowering, and may also be shaped as a standard. May also be grown in large pots, and pruned to keep at a manageable size, especially in colder climates. Hardy zones 9 and above and will even handle light snow (with protection from snow and hard frosts when young.) One packet contains 50 freshly harvested seeds and detailed sowing instructions. Please note that the seeds of this variety are very fine and dust-like. Please note: The seeds are fresh and viable - success in their germination is up to you, and will be achieved by carefully following the instructions included with your seeds. Sowing seeds requires cleanliness, practice and patience, and frequently have specific requirements and pretreatments. There is a learning curve. I say this because people generally blame the seeds or the seller for a failure in germination, when, in actuality, it is generally because of the one doing the sowing... With that said, I wish you the best of luck with the seeds, and if you have any questions with getting them started, please feel free to contact me. I've been growing and collecting rare and exotic plants for over 45 years and sowing seeds has been a specialty. Most of the trees and shrubs that are growing in my 4 acre garden have been started from seeds; there is something very satisfying about that. All photos are of plants in my own collection - unless stated otherwise. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - SORRY - I ONLY SHIP TO THE US. I do combine shipping for multiple items - please request a new shipping total before checking out. Thank you! Upon arrival of the seeds/cutting/plant, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I want you to be happy with your purchase and to have the greatest success in its cultivation! Thank you for checking out my ebay offerings. Robert
