They are part of a batch produced especially for Camel Trophy Club and are not available elsewhere. Do not confuse these with inferior and altogether incorrect cast-iron or unpressed reproductions that are sometimes available online or found for sale at autojumbles. These are the real deal! The listing is for one plaque from your choice of seven different options. The plaque is available in three sizes with three colours to choose from as they varied from year to year.The large plaques were displayed on the front of the Brownchurch roofracks fitted to the Defender and Discovery and the Honda-powered RibTec boats used for the final Camel Trophy Tonga-Samoa in 2000. They are fitted with an additional metal backing plate which makes them more rigid due to the hammering they were expected to take from tree branches and other obstructions. The medium plaque was fitted to the fibreglass roof pod of the Freelander in Camel Trophy Tierra del Fuego in 1998. These are incredibly rare. Available in green only.The small plaque was fitted to the rear of the roofrack of the Land Rover vehicles. They are very collectable due to their convenient size and relative affordability. They make wonderful presents and look great in display cabinets, mantlepieces or shelves.Green was used for Camel Trophy Sabah Malaysia 1993 onwards until the final event in 2000. This is the only colour that is available in all three sizes of plaque.Blue was used used for late-1980s and early 1990s events such as Amazon 1989, Siberia 1990 and Tanzania-Burundi 1991.Black was used for the earliest events and Guyana 1992. These plaques are produced using exactly the same pressing moulds as the company originally used to prepare the vehicles for the Camel trophy events. The paint is applied by the screenprinting technique, not the more modern digital printing which would not produce an authentic finish. The use of exactly the same manufacturing technique does mean that the plaques may have aberrations or imperfections in the finish. These are authentic and consistent with the quality seen on genuine Camel Trophy vehicles. We will try to show these as best we can on the photographs.
