Description: This is an incredibly rare irregular multiple, a block of 66, of Canal Zone 85, the 3c Lincoln US "Sharp A" overprint issue of 1926, between VG and F/VF centered and NH with waxy gum. At lower right, 10 stamps have some tiny white spots of talc on the gum that was used to keep the sheets from sticking to each other in the tropical climate. One piece of selvage at right in folded under and stuck to the back. As might be expected, there are areas of weak perfs and separations but most is intact and holding together well. Amazing that it has existed for almost a century. Scott catalog value of $396 as singles with no premium for the multiple. Provenance: Nathan Levy of the Canal Zone Stamp Company, then his son David Leeds. An incredible addition to a specialist Canal Zone collection. Please add $2.50 large envelope postage (shipped with cardboard stiffener) within the US; international postage $6.50. We combine shipping, so buy some other of our items!
