Description: CAP'N CRUNCH hand-puppet Alfie sailor mascot Quaker toy giveaway 1970s This is a previously-owned, plastic “Alfie” hand-puppet manufactured by Quaker Oats in the 1970s. It measures approximately 9½ inches and is in great shape. Alfie is a member of Cap'n Crunch's crew aboard the S.S. Guppy. He is the tall kid, in all white navy gear, with glasses. He was originally voiced by Daws Butler in the early commercials. Alfie and the rest of the crew appeared in the commercials, cereal boxes art, merchandise, cereal prizes and whatnot throughout the 1960's and 1970's. During the era of The Soggies, the crew was traded out for generic kids. In the 2010s many of the vintage characters, including the kids of the crew, returned to the back of the box art.
