Description: This is a stated “First Edition” (after printing 1000 deluxe edition copies), a first printing of the first Trade Edition of “Remembrance Rock” (NY Harcourt Brace and Company, 1948) by Carl Sandburg, his only novel. In its rare dust jacket, the book is in very good condition. Binding is solid and square with no damage to joints or gutters but not as tight as a fine copy - boards open easily. Exterior is very clean with bright lettering, a very tiny crimp to top front corner and light age toning to side and bottom page ends. Top stain is uniform but slightly faded. Interior is about fine with no foxing or browning to end sheets and no errant marks, names or damaged pages. In a brodart cover, the dust jacket is price clipped and in very good + condition with light wear to crown and corners and a few very short closed tears to top edge.
