Description: This is a carved stone standing bear fetish Native American sculpture/figurine. The statue is made of a brown-pink stone, with various colored veins running along the length of the body. The material is unknown, perhaps it is marble. The head of the bear figure is turned to the left. The body shape looks like a bear. The bear is a symbol of strength and resilience. It is a frequent subject of Native American art. The figurine is about 3 1/4" long. 2" wide, 2" tall and weighs about 7 oz. The carving is in a great used condition, there are only a couple of rough spots on the statue, one on the tip of the nose and one under the left hind leg (see photos). The statue is made with skill and is lovely.
