Description: CATRINA BRIDE Huichol Beaded Art Figurine Day of the Dead Mexican Folk Art Huichol Mexican Indian folk art is truly unique and all handmade by the indigenous Indian people of the Sierra Madre mountains in Jalisco, Mexico. Absolutely gorgeous, authentic, elegant metallic gold, metallic silver, red and black theme glass beaded clay, Day of the Dead Catrina Bride figurine. Handmade by the talented Mexican Huichol Indian artist, Isaias Bautista Carrillo, Turatemai, in Mexico. Isaias' designs have that haute couture elegant style. Using the traditional Huichol techniques of pressing Campeche wax onto this sculpture and adding, one-by-one, glass beads this Day of the Dead La Calavera Catrina depicts the offering message to the Huichol Gods. This figurine is signed by the artist, Isaias Bautista Carrillo. Details:Dressed in a gorgeous beaded halter style bridal gown, with gold and silver metallic color beaded accents, this Catrina portrays an elegant pose while holding her bright red beaded Peyote and rose bouquet with gray pearl beaded background. Her sophisticated, 3D sculpted trumpet style gown with ruffled sweeping train has important Huichol symbols protecting her with blessings on her wedding day. The moon for fertility, the mother of the corn, the messenger deer, rain for her family's crops and more. Isaias carefully planned and placed each symbol for receiving gratitude from the Gods. Her gorgeous veil, in 1920's clouche headdress style, with red, gold and silver beaded Peyote flowers is embellished with the Messenger Deer (spiritual guide between men and women), the corn and the rain for their family's future crops. Her head is detachable and we love her dangle style platinum pearl, red and metallic gold color earrings with Peyote flowers. One of the most unique details is how Isaias hand painted her arms and face with the typical Catrina details. Her body and face are painted ivory color with a pale gold wash. The red heart on her forehead and arm indicates true love and her eyes are outlined with red and green petals. The bottom edge of her gown is also painted with metallic gold. The symbols used on her gown and veil make her seem as if she is preparing for her special day in a most elegant way. Gorgeous!
