DESCRIPTION: From the Acid Archives, with some editing from me: Oddball release issued by a moderately successful LA hairdresser/beauty parlor manager, giving the term "vanity project" a new dimension. Actually, the remarkable Mr. Lee doesn't perform on the album, relegating that task to a group of teen-club stalwarts who had been playing mainly at his Covina nightclub; where most of the copies were sold. The album’s popularity and demand (over the years) is based on one killer track, this being the opening fuzz-psycher Soap Suds And Cream, which is a quite successful take on the Butterfly/Steppenwolf bag, with a long killer guitar break. The rest of the album (all originals) is more teenbeat-sounding and what you might expect from a 3rd tier Sunset Strip band. Although lighter fare, a couple of the tracks have, some good, memorable hooks, and excellent fuzz leads keep recurring. Apart from the opener this is ultimately more for the completist a la the Tormentors, albeit with some unusual angles. The band existed roughly a year. Ex-member Alan Clark has a website with more info and photos, (not sure what the web address is). Sleeve notes have an enthusiastic endorsement from Mr Lee's wife, Monique (hence the original labels name, Lee-Mo). )....... )[postage rates:HELLO FRIENDS & CUSTOMERS— IF YOU HAVE WON MORE THAN ONE ITEM--PLEASE DO NO T SEND PAYMENT—TILL WE SEND YOU A PROPER INVOICE TAKING ANY AND ALL SPECIFICS INTO CONSIDERATION-WE WILL TRY TO SEND AN INVOICE BETWEEN 24-48 HOURS OF THE AUCTIONS ENDING.] Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
