CGC 9.8 TORRID AFFAIRS #2 Uncensored/Variant Censored Matt Baker Bruce Timm Art

Description: Both HTF scarce versions are up for sale in CGC 9.8 White Pages. Every copy that has been listed and or found are of low grade quality and if you’ve been lucky enough to find a copy of either you already know this. What was Bruce Timm up to in his earlier days before Batman the animated series? Working with Malibu (Eternity) Comics and doing some #gga art for some of their obscure titles such as Spicy Tales, Out Of this World and this cover for TORRID AFFAIRS #2. I understand Timm did the coloring for the covers, but what I would like to know (well he did do the coloring) in addition to the ladies tan lines and 🌹 colored cheeks did he ✍️ the headlights onto the femme fatale on the cover, which created perhaps the first variant cover that has two different back covers as well. The Variant sports a yellowed/orange hued cover (by Dale Keown no less) which is extremely difficult to keep from being mishandled and will show any flaw/rub mark. Trying to hunt these under ordered obscure gems from 1989 and to obtain this grade will surely require some serious patience and hunting skills 😂 but I digress. This Matt Baker cover art was taken from an interior panel of a story entitled “My Dangerous Pastime” originally printed in TEEN-AGE ROMANCES #20 by St. John in 1952. This 👻 of a comic for has many things going for it, newly noted Variant cover designation by CGC, having a censored and uncensored variant version, good girl art, low non existent print run, Bruce Timm, Matt Baker women … scarcity .. I’ll stop there. Both copies are currently the highest graded in the census at CGC in 9.8. Regular 3 copies graded, 6.5,7.5,9.8 Variant 1 copy = 9.8 Matt Baker who passed away far too young at the age of 38, still deserves more accolades than have been given. The preeminent cheesecake artist, Baker’s work from the Golden Age era is 🔝 notch. Search for the out of print book from Twomorrows publishing titled, Matt Baker: The Art of Glamour. Timm who is most famously known for Batman Animated, has a large following for his Good Girl Art which has seen Flesk publications put out several fantastic art books dedicated to his work.
