Description: Full Title: Changing Children's Minds: Feurstein's Revolution in the Teaching of Intelligence Condition Continued: I ran my finger over the crease and, though it's definitely not going away, now the top edge is flat with the other pages. However there is a thin crease just below part of its top edge, as well as two very tiny tears. There are no markings or attachments in the book. The signed inscription is the only writing. The dust jacket is in pretty nice shape, a little crinkling at the top edge of the spine, a few little spots off the top edge of the rear. The flaps have only mild edge wear. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. Note that the orange-red spots on the front cover are part of the design (unusual but I like it). A Condor Book, Souvenir Press ( E & A) LTD, London, 1987. Hardcover in Dust Jacket. Moreover, I wasn't able to find a single book of (or about) Reuven Feuerstein that he had signed. The signature is a little confusing. It reads Berta Reuven (and then some Hebrew letters) Feuerstein. That would make one think that it might be his wife's handwriting. But I compared the signature in the book to a sample of Reuven Feuerstein's signature on the Internet and while it's not a perfect match (the writing at the end of his last name is clearly different) there is too much similarity in the other letters for it to have come from another hand. So I imagine he signed both his and his wife's name in the way that he did. I've provided a photograph of the signed page and you can take a look at the sample by simply googling his name and the word 'signature'. 'Reuven Feuerstein was a Romanian-born Israeli clinical, developmental, and cognitive psychologist, known for his theory of intelligence which states that it is not 'fixed', but rather 'modifiable'. Feuerstein is recognized for his work in developing the theories and applied systems of structural cognitive modifiability, mediated learning experience, cognitive map, deficient cognitive functions, learning propensity assessment device, instrumental enrichment programs, and shaping modifying environments. These interlocked practices provide educators with the skills and tools to systematically develop students’ cognitive functions and operations to build meta-cognition. Feuerstein was the founder and director of the International Center for the Enhancement of Learning Potential (ICELP) in Jerusalem, Israel. For more than 50 years, Feuerstein's theories and applied systems have been implemented in both clinical and classroom settings internationally, with more than 80 countries applying his work. Feuerstein's theory on the malleability of intelligence has led to more than 2,000 scientific research studies and countless case studies with various learning populations.'
