Description: eBay Listing Template r1 CHANTRELL TOOL CO. #391 ENTRY MORTISE LOCK w/KEY RECONDITIONED 7" FACE (15162-9) Vintage, key works just fine, mortise lock is maker marked with the logo of the Chantrell Tool Company of Reading, Pennsylvania, one of the area's many makers of American Hardware in the 2nd half of the 19th Century. FACEPLATE: Face plate has a Japanned finish, very clean, and measures 7" long and 1/16" thick and and 1" wide. BOX: Box is 3 1/2" deep from the front edge of the faeplate and 5" high. This is a well made mortise lock. SCREWS: The screw holes are on 6 1/8" centers. BACKSET: Backset (the distance from the front edge of the faceplate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 5/8". DROP: The drop (the distance from the center of the knob post hole to the center of the round portion of the key hole) is 3 1/8".
