Description: Set of 12 Charles Field Haviland Crescent Dishes w/ Gold Gilt, Limoges Bone China, marked CFH/GDM in green under glaze, dating these to around 1882. Plates are 6 1/2" x 3 1/2" featuring bluish flowers and gold gilt in center of plate and on scallop shape on edge of each plate. These look close to the 1311-1 pattern. One plate has a small chip on tip as pictured separately, all others are in very good condition. These are rare, delicate, and just lovely. They are crescent shaped and were commonly used in the 19th century to hold fish or chicken bones discarded from the diner's main plate. Their shape also makes them convenient to use as a side plate to serve a cold salad with hot food.
