Description: Charles I 1625-49, Halfcrown, Tower Mint, Group III, Third Horseman type 3a3, mm Sun, S.2778, N.2213 A nice example of this typically crudely produced coin struck at Tower Mint circa 1645-46. Some striking weakness across centre but otherwise well detailed and lightly worn on a full weight flan. Weight 15.36g O: CAROLVS D G MAG BRI FRA ET HIB REX. Third horseman.R: CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO.
