Description: Offered here is a very nice original California oil painting by Charlotte Confer, circa 1934. Painting is oil on masonite board and is signed lower left 'Charlotte S. Confer'. The painting size is ~16 x 20 inches and the overall framed size is 24 1/2 x 28 1/2 inches. This painting clearly shows the influence of her teacher, Hanson Puthuff. Attached to back was an inscription that this was a wedding gift in 1934 and noting that this was painted under Puthuff's supervision and that "he worded on it a good deal". Painting is in flawless original condition with no problems. Includes a contemporary silver-leaf frame. Charlotte was the wife of artist Harlan Confer, and a lifelong resident of southern California. While living in La Crescenta and Laguna, she was a pupil of Hanson Puthuff and William Griffith.
