Lyle Glentworth Chase was born 8 May 1886 in Genoa, Cayuga Co., New York, son of Charles Glentworth Chase (1859 - 1928) and Isabelle Whitehill (1864 - 1955). On the 25th of November 1909, he married Alice Miller, born 29 December 1882 in Harmony, Warren Co., New Jersey, daughter of Irwin Miller (1845 - 1914) and Nancy Culbertson (1845 - 1951). Lyle became a mechanical engineer. They lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Lyle died 10 June 1932 in Ithaca, New York, and was laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, Union Co., New Jersey. Alice lived to be 89, passing on 24 July 1972. She rests beside him. Their children include: Nancy Glentworth Chase (1913 - 1950), Margaret Culbertson Chase Bryan (1914 - 2000), Lyle Glentwood Chase Jr. (1917 - 1993)Photograph measures 6 x 8 inches and comes from the Ernsberger photography studio in Auburn, New York.
