CASE & SONS CUTLERY (BRADFORD, PENNSYLVANIA).Vintage CASE Pattern 6265 SAB - Jigged RedBone Folding Hunter pocket knife.Tang stamp is "CASE XX" 1940-1964.This is an early XX era knife with a low-pull, clip blade.Knife is 5-1/4" long (closed) with brass liners. The blade steel is carbon steel.Blades have none of their original mirror finish; patina and surface corrosion.Blades have excellent matchup with the backsprings.Nickel-silver oval, pinned CASE SHIELD.Good snap on each blade; not especially strong, but good.No real left/right play; main blade will move very slightly if you tug on it left/right.Handles are jigged redbone with "Indian Trails"; great color and texture. There is a single crack at the front, middle pin. Pin cracks are VERY common in these knives, because the pins were placed close to the handle margins. There is a repair of a chip on the back, middle pin.Someone replaced the primary pivot pin with a screw. It works fine, but should be replaced.Initials "JL" stamped on the bolsters. Knife was used and sharpened (small amount sharpening loss); primary blade appears just a tad short (see photos). Each blade has some spotting and patina. Blade was not cleaned or buffed, but would benefit from it.This knife is a survivor, has numerous issues (detailed above), but remains a beautiful and functional RedBone Folding Hunter. Great for your hunting bag. Well-made old knife. No box. Props used in these photographs are not included in the sale. I have not cleaned, buffed, or otherwise modified this knife. I do not clean knives, as per request from collectors. See photos for details.
