Description: Back cover browned and corner fold mark, pages very lightly browned, yet otherwise clean with tight binding (and no typical Dover crease to cover!). 67 games are well-analyzed by their player, Vasily Smyslov after his own autobiography, a biography by Soviet GM Peter Romanovsky, and a short update from the translator. English descriptive notation. No index. 154 pages NOTE: This book has an interesting pedigree. I have a copy in German published in 1954 which was translated from the original Russian work published in 1952. This (offered) book was published by Dover in 1972 which claims to be an exact reprint published in 1958 (by Routledge & Kegon) which was the English translation of the same Russian work. Yet the German and this book have a few different games--the translator's preface even admits to removing 11 games and adding 18 games. Additionally, the Moravian Chess 2-volume set of "Smyslov's Best Games" attributed to him (see my listing) has a different mix of games from the same years. Come back often as I am liquidating a large book collection. I do refund shipping to match actual cost when you buy multiple books.
