Description: Ornate Chinese Carved Wood Chest Box. Approximate size is 27"x14”x13" Most likely made of camphor wood due to the style, but I am not an expert so I can’t say for sure. Unknown maker. There is a tag labeled “Art No: 1-1014A” and a Made in China label on the bottom. There are numbers and other marks (possibly Chinese characters) written on the bottom. Interior is clean. Exterior shows wear due to age. There are various dents and/or chips in a number of places, especially on the edges. The bottom is unfinished. This item was purchased from an estate sale. The seller told me that her “sister traveled extensively throughout her lifetime. She brought this box home from one of her trips to the far East.” She was unsure of any details, such as when or where exactly, only that it was one of her sister’s favorite things, and that she always used it to store throw blankets in her living room.
